Throughout my career, I’ve created, managed, optimized, and overhauled dozens of websites, served in a variety of capacities and roles, and gained experience collaborating with academics, corporate institutions, and nonprofits of various size. I’ve operated in teams oriented within IT, programs, marketing, and communications.
Projects of note:
- UVA Health: First as a freelance web copy writer, then as SEO specialist, Content Strategist, and Lead Content Manager, created and governed style and standards for copy across a variety of platforms, for a diverse slate of audiences, supporting three website overhauls and the creation of patient-facing blog.
- Genworth: Projects for the launch of long-term care insurance campaigns spanned both web and email copy, in close partnership with usability designer
- Lynchburg University: As Content Coordinator, I overhauled site copy to complement new website designs while designing and delivering web writing training to staff.
- CFA Institute: Hired into the newly created Web Editor position, I created and delivered a Writing for the Web training for staff, overhauled an ungoverned intranet, and established standards and style guides for the public website.
- Virginia Foundation for the Humanities: Cut my teeth on Dreamweaver, inhabiting first webmaster role; unified a dozen disparate program sites into a single experience.
